How Our Organic Pest Control Program Works

Our technicians treat the exterior perimeter of your home along the foundation, entry points, and other areas, like decks, where pests commonly hang out.

Treatments are performed approximately every four weeks to maintain consistent protection. Because botanical ingredients generally break down more quickly than many conventional pesticides, regular applications are an important part of keeping pest activity under control.

On our first visit, we'll also leave you a 16-ounce bottle of our pest control solution for occasional indoor use. Need a refill? Just let us know, and we'll bring another bottle during your next visit.

Active Ingredients

Rosemary Oil

Geraniol

Peppermint Oil

Garlic

Our organic pest control treatments use plant-derived essential oils, including rosemary and peppermint, that both repel insects and can kill certain pests on contact. Their natural aromatic compounds interfere with how insects sense their surroundings, discouraging them from entering treated areas. When sprayed directly onto insects, these compounds can also disrupt their normal biological functions, providing effective contact control without conventional synthetic insecticides.

Common Household Pests Treated

Our pest control treats the following pests: Ants, aphids, boxelder bugs, cockroaches, cadelles, centipedes, cigarette beetles, crickets, darkling beetles, dark mealworms, dried fruit beetles, drugstore beetles, confused floor beetles, fleas, firebrats, fire ants, grain mites, fowl mites, mites, nuisance beetles (such as lady beetles), ground beetles, litter beetles, lesser mealworms, maggots (fly larvae), red flour beetles, rice weevils, saw-toothed grain beetles, spiders, spider beetles, yellow mealworms, millipedes, pillbugs, silverfish, sowbugs, and ticks.

FAQs

Have more questions about our organic pest control? Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often from North Carolina homeowners.

Is your organic pest control safe for pets?

Our pest control formula uses highly diluted botanical ingredients rather than conventional synthetic insecticides. However, even natural ingredients can affect animals, so we recommend keeping pets away during application and until treated surfaces have completely dried, or longer if directed by the product label.

The same applies when using the spray bottle we leave for occasional indoor pest control. Avoid spraying your pets, their bedding, food bowls, or areas where they might lick the product before it dries.

Here's a true story from our own household. One of our spray technicians once accidentally sprayed our cat, Leo, who was napping on the deck. We found him about an hour later, soaked and smelling like our pest control product, but showing no signs of distress. Naturally, we gave him a bath, which Leo seemed to find considerably more traumatic than getting sprayed in the first place.

Is your product safe for my plants?

Our technicians use backpack sprayers that allow for precise, targeted applications around your home's foundation. We avoid spraying your landscaping and ornamental plants directly.

If you're using the bottle we leave for indoor pest control, keep it away from your houseplants, too. The botanical oils in our formula can damage plant foliage. Ask me how I know...

If you're dealing with tiny flies around your houseplants, they're likely fungus gnats. We recommend addressing excess soil moisture first, since fungus gnats thrive in consistently damp potting soil. We recommend using neem oil, a natural, plant-based pest control treatment for plants.

Will you go into our crawl space to spray?

No, our pest control service is strictly exterior. We spray around your home's foundation and other exterior entry points, but we do not enter your crawl space or home to apply treatments.

Do I have to sign a contract?
